Description
Earl Grey Tea from our West Garo Hills, Meghalaya garden brings the classic Earl Grey to a single-origin Indian whole leaf base. Earl Grey Tea is the world’s most recognised flavoured tea — and our version is built on something the commercial versions are not: a genuine whole leaf orthodox black tea that has flavour of its own before the bergamot is added.
Earl Grey Tea from our West Garo Hills, Meghalaya garden brings the classic British Earl Grey to a single-origin Indian whole leaf base. Our orthodox Meghalaya black tea — grown at altitude, handpicked, and processed in our own factory — is scented with natural bergamot oil, producing the distinctive citrus-floral character that has made Earl Grey the world’s most recognised flavoured tea for two centuries.
What makes ours different: the base. Most Earl Grey is built on commodity Assam or Kenyan CTC — cheap, functional, but flat. Our whole leaf Meghalaya orthodox tea has a natural sweetness and complexity that gives the bergamot something worth pairing with. The result is a cup that is simultaneously familiar and noticeably better than any Earl Grey you have had from a commercial teabag.
The bergamot is natural — cold-pressed from bergamot orange peel, not synthetic flavouring. It is more delicate and more authentic than the artificial bergamot used in mass-market Earl Greys, which is why our version does not taste perfumed or overpowering.
Best for: Earl Grey lovers · Afternoon tea · Black tea drinkers upgrading from teabags · Gifting · Office ritual

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a good Earl Grey?
Two things: the quality of the base tea and the quality of the bergamot. Most commercial Earl Greys use cheap CTC dust and synthetic bergamot flavouring. Ours uses whole leaf Meghalaya orthodox tea and natural bergamot oil — which is why the cup is smooth and the bergamot is fragrant rather than perfumed.
Should I drink it with milk?
Both work. Without milk, the bergamot character is clearer and more floral. With milk, it becomes rounder and closer to a chai-flavoured cup. Traditionalists drink Earl Grey without milk; the Meghalaya base is gentle enough either way.
Is the bergamot natural?
Yes — cold-pressed from bergamot orange peel, not synthetic flavouring. This makes the bergamot note more delicate and more complex than mass-market Earl Greys.
How much caffeine does it have?
As a black tea base, approximately 40–60mg caffeine per cup. Less than coffee but more than green tea. Good for morning or afternoon without interfering with sleep if consumed before 3pm.

Brewing Earl Grey Tea (English Breakfast Style)
Water at 75–85°C. 2g per 180ml. Steep 2–3 minutes. Re-brew up to 3 times, adding 30 seconds per steep. Never boiling water — it creates bitterness and destroys antioxidants.
