Many of the practices around tea production have been in place since the colonial era, including auction process and the distribution channel that typically delays the product from reaching consumers until a year or even more after they are harvested. This reduces the freshness, quality, and flavour of the tea drastically. Tea being an agriculture product tastes best when fresh; however, the traditional warehousing and distribution of tea were inefficient and ill-suited for preserving the freshness of the tea. The Tea Story bypasses the intermediaries by plucking and processing the tea leaves from its fields and packaging the made tea for the consumers who order for the teas directly on the website.
